Our Patron Our Programme's Patron is the Honourable Arthur D. Hanna, Governor General of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Governor General Hanna was Deputy Prime Minister and government leader in the House of Assembly from 1967-1984. He served as a distinguished Member of Parliament from 1960-1992. Mr. Hanna had served in Parliament continuously for 32 years. During his time as a member of the Cabinet, Arthur D. Hanna has been charged with a number of governmental portfolios including Minister of Education, Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Finance. The Governor General has expressed his pleasure on many occasions in continuing the tradition of being the National Patron of the GGYA.
