Volunteering
Under the direction of a full-time administrator and a network of dedicated volunteers, the GGYA has expanded with active units throughout the Bahamian archipelago. The 70+ leaders play an essential role in the success of the programme.
Without dedicated volunteers the GGYA simply could not meet its goals. Whether it is through teaching during afternoons or hiking over a week-end, it is the energy and contributions of our volunteers that support and nurture the programme.
If you would like to volunteer as a leader please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always in need of additional volunteers and your support would be vitally appreciated.
Financial Support
The Governor General’s Youth Awards depends upon generous donations to sustain its programme. The GGYA gratefully accepts gifts from individuals and companies as well as special grants from non-profit organizations. Whether contributions are made toward project-driven fundraising efforts, general operations, or toward the GGYA Endowment Fund, we act as careful custodians of donated resources. Operational accounts are audited annually and endowment funds are managed at arm’s length by best-in-class professional asset managers with diligent reporting and controls.
Please help us to continue our efforts toward supporting the nation’s youth by giving as generously as possible. Contributions to the GGYA Endowment may qualify for deductibility for income, gift, capital gains and estate tax purposes.
