Units & Volunteers The Governor General's Youth Award has dedicated volunteers throughout the Islands of the Bahamas. Over seventy leaders play an essential role in the success of the programme. Many of our volunteers are teachers that dedicate a couple hours per week to working with the participants. Our volunteers also take part as guides for the adventurous journeys. Adventurous Journey Panel and a Gold Award Holders Association (GAHA): The Adventurous Journey Panel is responsible for all ventures in the Bahamas as well as assist with training in the section. The GAHA gives countless hours of service to the Award Programme. All GGYA volunteers are given opportunities to attend local training courses as well as international training courses. Some persons have also attended: International Forum, America Region Conference and Caribbean Award Sub-Regional Council. |
