CHILDHOOD & ADOLESCENCE
First of 9 children; grew up in Nassau, Fort Fincastle area; attended government primary and secondary schools; graduated Government High School 1971; member of 4th Bahamas Scout Troop, attached to Christ Church Cathedral where I was introduced to the Duke of Edinburgh?s Award Scheme, achieving Bronze, Silver and Gold; represented The Bahamas at the Commonwealth Gold Award Expedition, in Hong Kong, in 1975; also a member of Christ Church Cathedral boys choir (1966 – 1971).
PROFESSIONAL LIFE
Qualified as a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute, London (1981); employed with J. S. Johnson & Company Limited, 1972 to 1983; principal in Risc (Brokers & Agents) Limited, Marsh Harbour, Abaco, 1983 to 1991; senior executive with J. S. Johnson & Company Limited, 1991 to 2008; principal in Chandler Gilbert Insurance Associates Limited, 2008 to present.
PERSONAL TIME & INTERESTS
Reading classical literature; playing piano and organ music. He is a reserve organist at St. George’s Anglican Church, Nassau, and at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Nassau); cooking.
